Sterling Backcheck 2021 Year-End Review and 2022 Announcements
As I welcome the new year and reflect on 2021, I can’t help but think about resilience. Clients, employees, family, and friends all demonstrated resilience as we continue to navigate life during Covid-19. The world has changed and continues to evolve. To me, adapting to this change is not only desirable but necessary both personally and professionally.
In my role as a Managing Director for Sterling Backcheck in Canada, I speak to our clients on a weekly basis and have heard how they adapted to many challenges they were facing. For the most part, all of our clients were in unchartered territories navigating work in fully remote environments, or figuring out how to open safely and incorporate practices like tracking and collecting Covid-19 vaccine credentials into their operating procedures.
2021 Review
Despite many challenges we have faced, I’m honored by the progress that we’ve accomplished.
Identity
Sterling Backcheck joined the Digital Identity Authentication Council of Canada (DIACC) that is building a future for digital identity. Through this partnership, we are working with the DIACC to put identity first by participating in the development of the Pan Canadian Trust Framework, where government, business, and philanthropic leaders are coming together to collaborate and deliver resources that help solve and secure identity.
Covid-19 Vaccine Collection
Another accomplishment that I’d like to highlight is an offering that we were able to provide to our clients to collect Covid-19 Vaccine information. Several of our clients in Canada reached out to us asking if we could help, so our team got to work. Within weeks, we were able to put together a solution to help organizations bring employees back to the office safely and efficiently.
Client Support
In 2021, we also continued to focus on the changing landscape of compliance and privacy laws. Sterling Backcheck has dedicated experts who work closely with the RCMP as well as PBSA to make sure that we are always able to provide the latest information on laws and regulation. Our compliance hub is a good one-stop-shop for all the latest updates. Stay tuned, our team will be making an announcement regarding some changes around the Vulnerable Sector Search.
Sterling Going Public
I would be remiss if I didn’t highlight one of the proudest moments for me as a Sterling employee, and that is Sterling going public. This transition to being a public company allows us to make even more investments into our product offerings and provides opportunities for further expansion.
